Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic) is the peak body and leading policy advocate on young people’s issues in Victoria. YACVic’s vision is that the rights of young people in Victoria are respected, and they are active, visible and valued in their communities. YACVic is an independent, for-purpose, member-driven organisation that represents young people (aged 12–25 years) and the sector that works with them. YACVic provides additional targeted advocacy and services through our key services, YACVic Rural and the Youth Disability Advocacy Service, and our auspiced partner, the Koorie Youth Council.
About the opportunity:
The YACVic Corporate Services Manager (CSM) manages the vital support functions of the organisation, and provides support to the CEO on both strategic and operational matters. This includes strategic and operational responsibility for budgeting and finance, human resources, information technology, facilities and administration, including but not limited to financial and management reporting, funding, compliance, quality management, risk and insurance. Key external stakeholders for the CSM include banks, auditors, landlords, the ATO and suppliers, and key internal stakeholders include the heads of the key services and partner agencies, and the Board Risk & Finance Committee. The CSM also supports the development of funding proposals, and will contribute to the development of an emerging social enterprise within YACVic, working with relevant program officers to commercialise and scale up delivery of proprietary products and services.
- Strong experience in managing all aspects of operational corporate services: financial management, reporting and compliance; human resources; policies and procedures; information technology; compliance; risk management; contract management; and quality management.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning, and setting and monitoring organisational budgets.
- Proven ability to strategically and innovatively strengthen an organisation’s business practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to use emotional intelligence to supervise and mentor others and maintain productive relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
